If it makes you feel better, I'm going to spend my New year eve with my friend and his bf partying while the third odd one in between. I'd rather be sleeping or I wish i had a bf to curl up and cuddle. :/

I understand the feeling. It's my least favorite holiday, but I always feel obligated to do something big. This year, I'm spending it alone. I'm going to cook a meal, marathon a show, and relax in my comfiest clothes. I'm really looking forward to it.

Just try to do something nice for yourself that evening/do something you enjoy! In a few days, no one will even care or think about what anyone did on NYE.

I normally feel sad around this time because I don't get that many invitations to new year's eve parties, except this year. I got 2 invitations, but because of my exams I won't be able to attend any of the parties

I found out a group of my friends are going to go see the fireworks at Terreiro do Paço here in Lisbon, and I asked if I could meet them there and take my best friend with me so we could join them. So yea, that's what I'll be doing.

Just ask some friends that already have plans if you can join them! I'm sure they'll say yes! But if not, spending New Year Eve's with your parents' friends isn't that bad, I've done it before! Just be nice and try to interact with them or ignore them and go play videogames if they are annoying Don't feel bad about not having plans, it's not that big of a deal!

At least you have friends sis.

But the thing is I really want to spend it with just my parents, and not their friends. I feel uncomfortable spending it with their friends because I feel so out of place. If their friends weren't coming I would be fine.

If it helps at all, I've spent the last 3 new years with my now ex-boyfriend, and this will be my first time alone.

Even worse, I work early on the 1st so I can't go out.

Even worse, his birthday is the 1st, so all I can think about is him going out and having a new years kiss that isnt me, probably getting laid, while I'm in bed alone thinking about it, waking up early for work.

Ive spent like every new years of my youth just home alone with my father.. never had any parties to go to.
This year im finally 21 and get to go out and get drunk.. i have the option of going to Miami but i really wanna stay local and just get trashed at my favorite spot with chill people
