Wikipedia also lists it as a R&B Ballad.

And GRAMMY nominations /=/ the song's genre. Work is nominated in a Pop Song category, and it is one of the furthest 2016 hits from Pop.

You've been given examples and you don't want them to be R&B ballads, despite the fact they are. Idk what to tell you... I guess you don't want an answer to when the last R&B smash was.
