I seriously think he needs to be the 2020 candidate... But I can't see a path to the nomination for him at all based on his current trajectory. I also am not sure he'd be able to motivate ethnic minorities as well as is probably needed... Maybe a PoC VP could help the cause(?) but it remains a white man at the top of the ticket... idk if that's a good idea or not anymore.

Bill English seems a bit messy

It'd be just what Democrats need. 2 fresh new faces at the top with not enough experience to be seen as establishment but at least enough to know how to run a country (that balance could be important in 2020 if people are still on this anti-establishment sentiment and/or Trump's inexperience is showing badly).

He's a classic rural, southern New Zealander so he's just far more conservative socially than John. Everything else will basically be the same as John as he was the brains behind all the fiscal management of the country (and he gets a lot of acclaim for how he has handled the books). He's so bland though.

I know that rural voters will definitely turn out for him though. Very popular there, especially in hearing what I've heard from people around where I live in rural Whanganui. John was lucky to get the crossover appeal considering he lived right in the heart of Auckland... most rural New Zealanders hate that.

I was kidding. Kander doesn't have enough of a story yet to run for president.

To be honest, despite Kander having little experience you can probably spin more for him than you can Booker. He's had success in a Republican State (okay, not big-league politics, but still), he's served in the military, he has a young wife and a son.

Booker, in contrast, will be made out to be a career-politician, doesn't have a wife yet, will no doubt have to put up with horrid attacks about his sexuality, and will be made out to be part of the 'elite' or 'establishment'. And if there is any folk out there that feels let down by Obama (clue: there is, plenty of them voted Trump), they defo won't be inspired by Booker.

I'm not quite sure why Booker would be a better candidate than Kander, except having more political experience in the big arena. And sure, he'd probably raise minority turnout. But even then, I think its naive to expect Obama-2008 levels. That shi* was historic, and probably won't happen for a longgg time, if ever. Obama was Obama. There isn't no emulating him, and Booker will have to learn that.

It's just one silly woman not the entire presidency.
