The eighth installment of the "Saw" movie franchise is slated for an October 2017 debut, and it might feature the return of Jigsaw, played by Tobin Bell.
"Saw: The Final Chapter" was the seventh and supposedly last film from the blood-filled horror movie franchise. However, "Saw" has been revived for an eighth movie, but it is yet to be confirmed if this will be a remake or a sequel to "Saw VII."
The Tracking Board reports that the original director and the original screenwriter of "Saw," James Wan and Leigh Whannell, respectively, will only play the role of executive producers of "Saw: Legacy." "Predestination" and "Undead" directors Michael and Peter Spierig have been called by Lionsgate to direct, while "Piranha 3D" pair Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger will be screenwriters of the film.
Charlie Clouser has been tapped to score "Saw: Legacy," and he expressed his excitement in the project with The Hollywood Reporter.
