My answer is no, but I can relate to what the OP said.
I study Law. I don't even need to talk to some people to sense that they just aim for the absolute top. They always dress in a way to underline the social status they want to achieve or already have. I see them making shallow friendships for personal gains with anyone else. They're present at every party, drinking the most exquisite booze and often driving expensive cars bought by their parents. They'll be the ones campaigning to be elected as students' representatives at my faculty and the university and bragging about working at Law firms.
There is nothing wrong with being rich or aiming high but there is everything wrong about being a shallow careerist. There is nothing wrong with dressing nicely, but being in a suit in every class or lecture is cringey. Some people will say that I'm exagerrating, but I really hate these type of people and I'm automatically driven away from them. It's not jealousy as I have mostly enough stuff to lead a decent life, but I just think this type of behaviour tells a lot about these people and I wouldn't want to be friends with them ever.
I don't treat attractive people in in a mean way, but I'm intimidated by them. Even when I have been told I'm attractive and handsome, I still feel childish and need to be hot cause I will always feel ugly around attractive people.
