"dead at" vs "dies at" vs "passes away at"
Personally I prefer "passes away" or "has passed away" rather than the other two.

I hate "passes" because it's so vague. Passed what? A kidney stone??

"Dead" is kinda brutal, I like it.
Honestly I don't get the whole tip-toeing around schtick so I prefer "dead at" or "dies" over anything gentler.

"Dies at" is the best. "Dead at" is a bit harsh, and "passes away" is ambiguous.

"Dead at" is the most grammatically correct and accurate, I believe. But I get wanting to passes away as it sounds less harsh/more respectful.

Passes away is the most respect and easy going.
I can see why the media uses 'dead at' though, its so dramatic

Passes away is probably more 'polite' but I use dead at...

"Dead at" imo. I don't like using "Passed away" because it feels like it's an attempt to sidestep the seriousness of their death. But that's just my opinion.

"Passes away" sounds a bit too...euphemistic or somethinf, but "dead at" seems too blunt
"Dies at" seems like a decent middle ground, but in the end they're all pretty similar ways of saying the same thing

Passes away.
It's more respectful.

"Dead at" is more dramatic and attention grabbing which makes it the best.
"Dies at" is ok but not as dramatic.
"passes away" is for losers.

I have a vision of one of your family members dying and you screaming something like 'MUM DEAD AT 72' :at your family members
You should always use passes away with family imo.
