maybe she thinks she can match btw's first week sales if she puts it on discount in small doses
Considering only 3 albums have outsold BTW's first week sales this year excluding SPS (6 if you take away the discounted #s), I don't think she's expecting to reach that.
They do! But Lady Gaga's seems... excessive. Not sure why the album AND single been discounted almost constantly. Seems the only reason could be that it's not selling well...
Interesting observation considering it's doing better in physical sales (#12) where it's not on sale than digitally (#22).
Ariana's DW got discounted a million times too and it's currently discounted again and made a huge jump from the 60s into the Top 20. I don't see anything wrong with discounts. It's a marketing/promotion strategy like any other.
