I think Mom+Pop, Flume's US label, waited for so long because "Never Be Like You" didn't peak on Pop radio until early September when it was sent to recurrency. Obviously, they could have sent "Say It" immediately, but I guess they prefer to wait until November to do something until the freeze and push it a little more after it ends.
This is definitely risky and they could have delayed the impact date until January, but it would have been worse in my opinion. Also, there was a banner from his US label in the latest Mediabase .pdf, so I assume they have faith on it and it could be another sleeper hit from him. Time will tell if this indeed happened though.
Good to see "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)", "Dangerous Woman", "Me, Myself & I", "Cake by the Ocean", "When We Were Young", "Close", "Into You" and "Cheap Thrills" in the Top 40 list and "Stole the Show" and "Capsize" in the Non-Hits list.
