Acting like you think your child is straight when you know they are gay won't make them come out to you faster. It also won't turn them straight. Just let them know you already know so we can move on with our lives. If you're scared they might actually be straight and you were wrong and that's why you didn't say anything, just joke about it and move on.
This. Coming out does not work all the time. I came out to my mom two years ago and she still talks about me having a wife and thinking all my female friends are my girlfriends.

I can relate hardcore I literally sing along to Ariana and Beyonce in my house and my mom still makes inappropriate comments about me and my female friends. Every time I go meet a female friend she tries to get me to bring condoms like
It might be that they suspect you're gay but they don't want to acknowledge it and instead have hopes that you're straight.
My mum is kind of like the same thing to me too. She's seen me watch a Britney Spears documentary on TV, a reality TV show about The Saturdays, sing along and dance to Lady Gaga & Rihanna songs but yet still gets the feeling that I'm straight.
