Reddit > Any other website. There are tons of assholes, and so many liars (so many) but you're more likely to find reasonable conversation on reddit than elsewhere on the internet (provided you stay off of default subreddits, of course.)
Plus, gems like /r/notgay**** exist. Makes my feed a little more interesting.
That's like asking why Twitter is weird, when there's like 100 different variations of Twitter i.e. Black Twitter, K-Pop Twitter Stan Twitter, , Trump Twitter etc. which are all v. different
