Yes , str8 will be a minority soon. Most young people is starting to be open about it right now and be ok about casual gay sex, i listen straight married men at my job talking about having man crushes all the time. And the amount of people going to these parties where they have sex with girls/boys
In ten, fifteen years straight people will struggle to survive in this sex-free world.
That's like trying to advocate that racism exists for white people. It can be a thing, but it will never get to the point that hetero people have to fight for their rights.
so actually there was a case of heterophobia where a gay man who was thirsting for another man that happen to be straight and he didn't want to be with him, so the gay man killed him. Of course this case is also an example of mental issue, but technically it is heterophobia since the reason he murdered him was because his sexual orientation was straight
also I saw some LGBT saying how straight people shouldn't be allowed in gay pride parades
I'm sorry, but that is discrimination. Who are you to ban people who are there to support your rights, and you act so ignorant and discriminatory against them?
and threads even here on ATRL show that heterophobia exists when a straight man poses for a gay magazine cover, and comments are usually something like "why do they put straight men on the cover? we want gay men!11". Like, you Americans who mostly comment stuff like that have no idea how privileged you are against LGBT folks who a support from a straight man would mean the world to them, especially if it's an big, important straight figure that publicly supports LGBT community. It's no different than straight people who say "why do they put gay or trans people on magazines covers? GAY AGENDA11!1". I'm a humanist, so I support everyone equally, ask yourself if what you do or say would be okay if it's the other way around.
Anyways, this topic isn't even close to being as important as the actual oppression that we still face as LGBT people in the world, but let's not be biased against our own prejudice in our own community, otherwise you're just being hypocritical to gain your own oppression points.
The mental gymnastics of trying to reach for some point in this post.
In instances where homosexuality is the norm and gays are the majority--e.g., gay bars, clubs, forums-- yes heterophobia can exist.
That's really happening though? Shiid, Gay NYC is practically being taken over by heterosexuals after accepting them with open arms. Bars and gay spaces are being shut down left and right cause Billy and Mandy just moved in and want Emily to wake up 4 in the morning to play cello.
Some people think that oppressed minorities cannot oppress other people themselves. In my opinion, this is a wrong way to understand equality and two minuses don't make a plus. Women mistreating men, black people mistreating white people or gay people mistreating straight people isn't 'empowerment' and should be condemned as wrong. That's on the principle idea.
When it comes to heterophobia, it could possibly exist, however if it does it really is marginal and not a real problem.
