It's a traditional romanian salad with vegetables with chopped beef or chicken or a combination, mA-YO and pickled vegetables. It is served during Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve here. The name has a russion origin and comes from Salad Olivier or Russian salad.

It's called insalata russa (Russian salad) in Italy and it's a Christmas dish here too, except we don't put any meat in it, just veggies. But the preparation is the same.
