I wish it were that. He knows exactly what he's doing. He's casting doubt on anyone and anything, making their claims have possibility of being false while crediting himself with things that he hasn't done, hasn't earned and won't do.
What he's doing is evil. He's making himself look as good as possible to the many people who believe him. He knows anybody against him will always be against him, what he's doing is making sure the people who did support him keep supporting him
