When I saw this trailer and saw who directed it, I thought the same thing, Cloverfield. I didn't think it was the sequel but it was very similar to Cloverfield's techniques.

And if this user posted the title as "Super 8" I would gauranttee you everyone would've passed on the thread. Believe me. Then you would have the user bump it 24/7 trying to get people interested in it. This is a film similar to Cloverfield and that is what grabs peoples attention, not Super 8.
