The "opposition" is such a bad term. There's no opposition, there are oppositions and some of them carry ideologies that are even worse than keeping Assad in power. There's hardly any groups that advocate for a secular and democratic country. Most of them wants Sharia law. So I'm not sure who Russia is killing, but if they're targeting those ISIS-lite groups I'm not mad.
