I would LOVE to but my dad is against having the cat inside I still allow him inside but if he sees him he'll get all mad and stuff. He says it's not hygienic
My mom used to say she was allergic to dogs, but now that I'm in university I tried to bring it up and she says she never said she was allergic Not her fabricating a lie cause she doesn't think I'm responsible enough.
He really should keep the cat indoors. Besides being at risk for things like FIV, Feline Leukemia, panleuk, calicivirus, etc., the cat is at risk of being injured by other outdoor animals, he could be picked up by Animal Care and Control, etc. He can also acquire parasites which are transferable to people.
Does he have any identification? I used to work at a spay/neuter clinic and people brought in trapped outdoor cats all the time. Though most of them ended up back outside because it was assumed they were feral, some that were friendly were kept and eventually adopted out to other homes. Were these cats just inclined to be friendlier, or were they owned cats who were let outside without I.D.? We'll never know. And their potential owners will never know what happened to their cats.

He's a pretty independent animal and he's not used to being inside all the time anyway. He's only ever been sick once and he recovered after a trip to the vet so i'd say he's quite healthy too. Kind of worried about what you said about people taking outdoor cats being confused for feral cats though, but my neighborhood has a lot of those cats and I don't think people care enough for that
