I don't find value in prayer anymore. My theological position is closer to deism now than to monotheism. I don't think God is one who's interested and intervenes in human affairs. God is supposed to be a personal God who hears prayers in monotheism but I know no one who miraculously got healed of sickness or became rich or successful by prayer alone whereas countless non-religious/materialist people have led successful and happy lives on their own without invoking God for help. I don't see any more role left for a personal God in a deterministic universe. Everything is already set in motion. Whatever is going to happen will happen either way.

to make yourself feel better about the fact that you don't

you want an opportunity to have your voice heard so you can openly attack people for having faith
(and you're doing it using a forum where people are supposed to bond and meet friends who share their interests)
