Janet Jackson, 50, the youngest child of the famed Jackson singing family, is one of the best-known pop singers in the world but is still waiting induction after becoming eligible for the Hall of Fame in 2007.

If acts like Journey, Blondie and Cheap Trick could get in, there's literally no justification for Janet not getting in. It's not as if RnR only inducts the most successful or most acclaimed acts. It's become very clear that they have a certain idea of who a "rock" act is, and black women are almost never included, let alone living and active black female musicians. Whitney and Mariah haven't even been nominated.

What do people have against Janet?

Janet had about as much impact and cultural influence as Madonna when she burst out Control, with as much accolades to show for it! She ain't the second most awarded female artist for nothing (No, Madonna is not the first). Anyone who credits Madonna as an influence also include Janet as well. So don't just say Janet has nothing compared to Madonna when she does, and it took that one stupid Super Bowl incident to mess that up.

But wait at them giving Janis Joplin (phenomenal singer btw) a spot the first year of eligibility yet Nina, Tina and Janet aren't.

But idk why Janet hasnt gotten in, she's been eligible since 2007, Madonna got nominated and inducted the first year she was eligible.

At this point they probably don't want her, and if i was janet i wouldnt want it either.
