Are ppl still blaming Taylor for Camilia's life choices or nah
Taylor is probably being blamed because she makes everyone more famous just by association. I had never heard of Camilla before she became Taylors friend. I would not doubt if Camilla's management told her to contact Taylor in order to raise her profile and make her the standout in the group. Camilla got tons of opportunities that the other girls did not after she became friends with Taylor. They are blaming Taylor because she made her a bigger star without trying and that caused Camilla to want to leave the group and go solo. Your head gets bigger when you have the most fans in the group.
If anyone of those other girls had thought of being "friends" with Taylor first, they would be in the same position as Camilla is now, they"d have all the collabs. It would have instantly made them the most famous in the group. Her management is smart but Taylor clearly gets used a lot. Then blamed for the outcome. Who knows if Camilla really even likes her at all.
It's smart having her soundtrack song be a duet because it won't take attention away from her lead even if it's a smash. It's why I'm not using it as an indicator of how the album is gonna sound.
they also had that Michele Obama song which was played to death at my uni's radio stallion, but which ever girl left this band will flop, they're not that established and nobody actually knows their name

Yeah, with her other soundtrack songs it was different because they were her songs from the start. But this song was already 80% finished when they asked her to join. She contributed part of the lyrics and by singing them, she basically gave them permission to use her name for more sales. I doubt that she cares about the song or its performance. The (little) promo it had and the Spotify spots are probably part of the movie/soundtrack promo plan of Republic Records.
I kind of hope that she was offered to do a solo soundtrack single (on another soundtrack ofc) before she was asked by Zayn and Jack. That is what she usually does in between albums and 50 Shades wasn't really planned, so for me it doesn't count.
I didn't even know that Camila was part of 5H up until a few months ago, though I didn't even know that 5H were a thing until I joined ATRL. I always knew that Camila is friends with Taylor but I never bothered looking her up. However, from what I've seen and read Camila was always the one people were most interested in. I remember that ATRL used to make several threads and they wanted her to go solo because she was "the best". I learnt that ATRL really loves bandwagoning and not having their own opinion.
If at all Taylor told her a bit about how the music industry works and that those tv show bands are literal label puppets (as proved by that leaked audio and the #Free5H hashtag). In the end Camila is old enough, has a family and a professional team to decide what's best for her well-being and future.
