Discussion: How come Camila received more backlash than Zayn?

Oh and Zayn didn't shade their group's music just to release tragic songs. His solo material is way better than the group's one. You can see he did it for the passion of music and quality

I'm the first person to call out sexist music industry BS, but come on  If Lauren or Normani had announced they were leaving and said that they talked their decision over with the other girls, there would be no backlash because people would understand their decision. With Camila, she has her own manager and team and has been meticulously planning her solo career with Charlie Walk since 2014 (look up the leaked texts). Everybody knows she's an opportunist and was waiting for the first moment she could find a contractual way out, and did so with no regard for the other girls who she spent nearly 5 years with.

I still don't get why people want Camila to stay in a group where she doesn't seem comfortable at all, and the other members don't seem comfortable with her there anyway
What is wrong about leaving?
Maybe it's just angry 4H fans that know that without her they will FLOP?

So you are saying she is getting backlash because she has been working hard for 2 years to develop in her future career

You have yet to hear Camila's side hun. Taylor was the one threw a last minute party exclusively for Camila and invited Taylor's friends. Camila's mom, sister / her actual bffs werent there too so And Camila has stood up for the girls SO many times on Twitter, whenever the girls have hate thrown towards them or when the girls are having a hard time, she'll be the first to say something.
And Camila isn't racist, you're believing those fake screenshots.
Out of all girls, she's one of the first ones that diligently works on a project that is against sexism, racism, poverty etc. even visited children's hospital, creating songs to help fund for those who need it.
OT: Definitely sexism. And the way how she's being portrayed.

 why does it feel like there was a ton of drama and immaturity in that group since the very beginning (X-Factor days)? Simon Cowell could've spent his funds on someone else. What a waste of time, space and money.

Camila has shamelessly been pursuing a solo career from the get go
Zayn understandably wasn't into 1Ds sound and image, nor the lifestyle that the group brought him

For one point in time, Zayn was very committed to the group. Camila wasn't.
Zayn was the underrated member of his group and was the victim of nasty racist comments from fans. It was the exact opposite for Camila.
On Zayn's last day with 1D, he was crying. On Camila's last day with 5H, she was overflowing with glee, collected a plaque for her solo single and left.
She's practically responsible for ruining the group's sisterly bond image that made fans fall in love with them in the beginning.
She piggybacked the additional popularity from the group and released solo music while still in it. She would often miss group recording sessions and rehearsals due to this. Zayn waited months after his departure from his group to even say anything or release any music.
Camila has been scheming this for over year by slowly getting her own manager, her own team and her own lawyer right under their noses while still very much in the group. I doubt Zayn did that right away.
She used to crop her groupmates out of photos (for almost 2 years now) and speak to fans as if they should only care about her. That used to upset fans. Zayn didn't do that.
She's been exposed for shading her group members on several occasions.
they are two different situations. Zayn and Camila's things are NOTHING alike. It's not about "sexism" in this case.

This backlash towards Camila was always gonna come. Releasing solo songs devotedly whilst in a group that you're trying to establish is a no no

Zayn left after 4 albums, with 'health issues' playing a part in his departure aswell. 1D was a phenomenon. 5H hardly reached a proper peak. The group was not even fully on track and Camila jumped ship. I mean I get she wanted a solo career, I get she may not felt 100% comfortable with the group anymore.
Nicole also got a lot of backlash when she tried to jump ship, but PCD's debut era was much bigger than Fifth Harmony's 3 era's so far and also she worked on solo features and got some succes, even while still being with PCD.
It has nothing to do with sexism, but more with the way things went leading up to this departure and especially this whole reps having to break it to the other girls. If she really was happy with what the group brought her, she would have announced her departure properly and especially first to the girls in their face and then with a special announcement to the fans.
It feels very cold and calculated how she left, that is why she gets so much backlash and Zayn didn't. Because in his case a lot of different factor played along and he already helped to estamblish the group to what it was.

It's also mind-boggling to me that so many people think the other 4 were "jealous" of this girl bc she was the most popular but she's been the most popular since X-Factor and they got along just fine. Why would they suddenly hate on her for that now?
Fans could SENSE the disconnect between Normani, Lauren, Dinah and Ally and Camila. From the outside looking in, she's likable (she is everybody's favorite member in the beginning.... she sure was mine) and she looks like the victim but trust me.... this girl is devious and so is her family.
