Not all weeks in the top 10 are equal. Since 2004, the top album sellers have been Adele followed by Taylor. Chart placement is a metric in and of itself however it is among the least important.

Though you are right about one thing: with SPS, Rihanna is the second biggest act since 2004 after only Adele (though Taylor is right behind her).

If she was a singles artist, it wouldn't matter. U can add all of Florida, Soulja boy, Pitbull & Jason Derulo album discography combined they still wouldn't match GGGB.

Moreover, 1 album a year also means that she promotes her albums less than others. So each album could probably have perform better if they had a 2 year campaign instead.

Al's bums sales have been declining year after year... we know that. However, I bet if u add albums sales for each of those ladies, Rihanna woukd still be top5 and probably top3.

OR they d be overexposed and their career would crash. Not everybody can put material out year after year without backlash from the GP.
One of the reason why Adele sells so much is because she creates a huge demand by being rare. It makes each release an event.
Same for Taylor in a much smaller scale.

Those albums were released literally two months apart and 25 still sold more after ANTI's release I'm not bashing Rihanna, just adding context by pointing out that a week in the top 10 is not always equal.
