Ok so a few weeks ago, I was at work and this African dude told me something about attracting girls (and my closeted self went along with it). He already lost me with his previous homophobic remarks but then he told me something that I think a lot of people might raise their eyebrows at.
He was like in their culture, when a woman says no the first time (I'm guessing he meant just to talk), you don't just give up, because it most likely means that she just doesn't want to seem easy. So, he told me that you must keep pursuing but after a while if she says keeps saying no, then it's safe to say that she really doesn't like you.
Now, mind you, my PC alarm bells were triggering and in my head I was like

but then I thought of it from another perspective. Perhaps the women do put up this front just so they won't seem easy. But then I remembered a legendary lyric from Britney's Spears Up N Down (which is a BOPPT!!

btw)
"But I'm not easy, just not afraid to rush."
So having reviewed that, I was just wondering, is that line of thinking really problematic? Should someone give up the first time someone shows disinterest (and I mean to talk of course)? Is persisting despite rejection invasive?
