Are you really comparing a spinoff to the actual Star Wars saga?
People don't know it's a spinoff. They see Darth Vader on the poster and go to the cinema but nostalgia can only take you so far. The diminishing returns are obvious.
Right in the middle of expectations. I do think these spin offs will dilute the brand though. There was zero need for this particular story, they only did so they could have another film with Darth Vader in it. The Han Solo film also has a lot riding on it and could be a disaster if people don't take to the new actor.
