Because you can't change the mindset of a population for them, that needs to come from the inside. You can't force a revolution on a population that doesn't want it and you can't give democracy as a gift. Democracy and freedom need to be fought for by the people who want to procure it for themselves. It needs to be born of blood because that's when it means something, that's when people realize it's something worth having, worth fighting for.

Well that's what I said. Westerners always complain about some of their archaic values but none of them do anything to help the liberal activists in there. They just focus on closing their borders and marginalizing those people.

You're correct, we won't. Actually, we've seen the opposite; a regression. Think of Iran pre- and post-Khomeini. Think of the women who were forced back into chadors and burkas while their Western counterparts were burning their bras.
The revolutions that happened were in the opposite direction. From freedom to chains. From light to darkness.

You're right in saying that those who come to the West must be acclimatized and assimilated, however, that won't happen unless the apologists and the legislators get off their asses and respond to the provocations and attacks when they blow us up in our subways and shoot us in our Bataclans.

What I meant is that you can't help it along, you can't fast-track democracy.

Think of caterpillar emerging from a cocoon. The struggle of breaking out of it strengthens its wings. If you cut a hole in the cocoon to help the butterfly out, yes, you shorten the process but the butterfly that emerges will not have wings strong enough to carry its own weight.
