All Great Mothers Appreciation Thread (Happy Mother's Day)
With today being Mother's Day, I thought it would be nice to make a thread to show our appreciation to the women who brought us into the world. Feel free to share what your plans are with your mother today or what you have gotten them as a present.
I for one am so grateful for the love and support my mother has provided me over the years. Suffering through a failed marriage and miscarriage, I was able to see a strong woman hold it together if not for herself then for her family. She's sacrificed so much over the years for her kids, but never complained about it. My mom is the best role model I could have asked for and I feel blessed every day to have been raised by such a strong, dynamic, and intelligent woman. After she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer three years ago she's being battling every day to defeat the cancer and not let it defeat her. Everyday I see her, I'm reminded of what a strong woman she is and how fortunate I am to have had her as my mother growing up. My gift for her is a jewelry box with a charm bracelet inside and I also plan on taking her out for a brunch...just mother and daughter.
Mother's Day plugs are all over the television today! Plus, it's my mon's birthday BUT I did not greet her. I'm sorry because I'm one of those people who are uncomfortable at being ostensibly passionate toward their mothers. I wish I could change this attitude, though, it would take me a long time to override my inhibitions. I LOVE MY MOTHER, of course.
