Discussion: How to quit smoking?

I'm done with these cigarettes! For a long time actually but I find myself rolling an hour after I quit...

Any tips? Any former smokers in here? How did you do It?

I quited smoking 4 months ago. 1st of january will be 5 months already

I can't believe it
I just did, I don't know how to explain it. I said I won't smoke anymore the next day and it lasted until now.

But lately the crave is getting bigger ugh

Never quit but both my parents were able to. People these days just use those e-cigarettes

this. I had a relative who smoked and they use chantix (aka varenicline or something like that) and they are now smoke-free. I believe in chantix!

No meds please. I try to keep my body clean from any meds besides the obvious ones.

I've also heard Champix is horrible for most of the user.

It's the best option for you tbh.

Instead of willpower, it'll just 'switch off' your receptors and you'll no longer crave nicotine.

Much easier than actively smoking with an e-cig. That's still part of your routine and harder to combat.

I didn't like the smell of smoke, to the point it made me feel sick. I was a smoker for over 10 years.

Well I'm having a slight gum infection right now which is obviously a side effect of smoking since my hygiene is on point.

I was so angry, I put away my tobacco and papers and said out loud "That's It!"

I tried It a few times but I was never really into the idea of quitting. This time around I really want this tho.

I think I'm on the wrong ones. As in, raltegravir, meaning it affects everything I smoke/drink and consume?!

Have lied to my doctor about what I get up to in my free time so maybe thats why

Anyway as far as tobacco goes, I've quit so many times but champix just instantly worked for me.

I'm gonna try It with willpower first tbh. If I can't pull through I'm gonna ask my doctor but I'm having a good feeling. Especially now that I'm going home for Christmas and I can eat all the stuff my mom prepared instead of smoking.

At least that's what I have in mind NOW.

I actually gagged a few times while smoking the last few weeks which is definitely a sign to stop...

Plan a 2 week camping trip into the wild where you have no access to cigs and don't bring any with you obviously.

By the time you go back, you'll most likely be over the worst phase.

Have you thought about alternative methods like Hypnosis? There is one particular one in Berlin with quite a few great reviews but i'm sceptic towards hypnosis in general so idk

I was sick and it made me feel even worse so I just quit the next day. It was the day Beyoncé released Formation so it'll be a year in february.

I think the best thing to do is just quit right now. Like waiting for monday or new year is stupid, just stop and take a gum if you want cigarette.

My doc knows everything (from years ago - I'm pretty clean when It comes to drugs nowadays) so he gave me Triumeq which is pretty chill when It comes to the consume of other drugs.

Wish me luck sis, I'm gonna need It.

If you don't want to die earlier because of cancer or a stroke, just stop smoking (and drinking, if you do). Just think of the consequences, if you crave it.
