I am known in this base as the Queen of good taste. Therefore I would recommend you start with M's debut and listen to all of her studio albums up to Rebel Heart in chronological order. This isn't something I recommend for all artists but I think it's important for Madonna.
Blond Ambition, Girlie Show and Drowned World are flawless tours and great fun (hence my avi from the latter)
Check out the music videos for Oh Father, Bad Girl, Frozen, What It Feels Like For A Girl, Die Another Day and the original American Life video.
I found all of the Rebel Heart era interviews and articles to be fantastic so you should try and read some of those.
