Katy came through with this one. I love how she served something indie darker this time around with the song giving me strong Evanescence vibes. The music video was just as impressive and visually stunning and it fit the message of the song perfectly.
Those are my girls indeed. The song wasn't one of my favourites from the album when it first came out but when the video dropped, I was obsessed. I loved the post-apocalyptic vibe of the video combined with the girl power theme of the song to create an epic product that shows just what these girls are capable of.
It's time to show some love and appreciation for my homegirl Poli Genova and her incredible song from this year's Eurovision Song Contest #representin I had given up on our participation in the contest long ago until Poli dropped this infectious bop and took over Europe's hearts earlier this year in what was our most successful entry in the competition so far.
Alicia's singles this year have all been on point in my opinion, however the world seems to have forgotten about the hit machine that she was a few years back. Hallelujah is no exception and is one of those artistically crafted and heartfelt songs that deserved recognition but were pretty much left unnoticed.
My Queen JoJo came back in this mutha more unapologetic than ever and ready to kick some ass Boston style. And although 'Apologies' is far from being her best song or the perfect lead for 'Mad Love', it was still pretty much the soundtrack to my summer when I felt like giving zero ffs lef, right and centre. The 'And JoJo does too' line though Wiz, wyd?

I never really paid attention to Alicia up to this point. I've always thought she was a little bit overrated but I have a thing where I hate an artist when the whole world is obsessed with them and then become a stan once they start flopping. This was the case with 'HERE' which I beleive is an incredible piece of work - great cohesion, incredible lyricism, crazy ass beats and a variety of genres and moods. Standout tracks:The Gospel, She Don't Really Care, Kill Your Mama, Where Do We Begin Now
While I might be in a love/hate relationsip with to Katy's music, I'm on the love side of the spectrum when it comes to her visuals. She's one of the artists who's not afraid to invest into a music video and the final result is a fact. I absolutely love the aesthetics of 'Rise', the intensity of the parachute scenes, the scenery, the water and the taking off in the air bits.

'Okay ladies now let's get in formation!' Honestly as iconic as life itself! Good sis Bey digital dropped on us again, but she did the single thing this time around so the shock of a full surprise release was alleviated a bit. Having a look back, the danciest song on the album made for a perfect lead single unlike her previous release!
You can definitely tell this is a Sia song, like seriously, that girl needs some reinvention. On the other hand, Rih's delivery is on point. Had it not been for her vocals, I feel like 'Sledgehammer' would've been the very next uninspired Sia single on the charts. Welp, the song didn't have that much of an impact anyways, but it served its purpose, I guess.
The release of this song was inspired by a truly heart-breaking event which made the message of the song just that much stronger. Christina's longing for a change is supported by her powerful vocals and emotional delivery throughout the song. And although she promised more this year, 'Change' was enough to quench our thirst until the new album drops.
Lord, where do I begin on Ms Banks up in this bitch? Her behaviour this past year has been the pits and it made it really difficult for me to stan but she still managed to give us a bit of that thing she does best - music. 'The Big Big Beat' and the whole Slay-Z mixtape are evident of that. She better pull her **** together and drop the new record soon.
And here is the last entry by Beyoncé on my Best Of Singles Chart. The anthemic Freedom almost made it to my Top 20 but it still needed a bit more for me to place it that high. The track hits you like a truck and the addition of Kendrick on it elevates it to a whole new level. I only wish we could've gotten a better music video with it. Not that I would've been able to post it here
