I'm not sure what the problem was, but she wasn't the only one with not so great vocals. Did they not have their in-ear monitors or did they not get a proper chance to rehearse in the venue?

Lorde, Jack Antonoff and Lauren Mayberry did a good job, but some of the others appeared to be having difficulties with the acoustics or something.
