Foxes - All I Need



Standouts:





Literally every song on this album is a standout. Others call It boring or mediocre - I call It one of the best pop albums of the year! One great song follows the other and It never gets boring over the length of 16 tracks. I'm still having a lot of fun with this record and It won't end with 2016...

Rihanna - Anti



Standouts:






I still can't believe we finally got Anti this year. After the long wait and various "promo-singles" the album turned out much better than I thought. It's Rihanna's best album (sorry Rated R) and my standouts are a joke since every song on this album is a standout.

Kanye West - The Life of Pablo



Standouts:






Here's the thing about Kanye and my relationship to him and his music. For me he got better with time and I still stan Yeezus like It's a newly released album. TLOP is a small step back for me. It's not as cohesive as Yeezus, It's not as experimental as Yeezus AND It's a bit length-y here and there.

BUT he did It again. Wonderful album with so many heights like the flawless intro (Chance killed this), his Desiigner Remix , the cocky Feedback, the little Yeezus throwback called Freestyle 4, FML - Waves - Wolves where he brings the best out of this collaborators, the superior version of Facts and the INCREDIBLE Fade.

I'm also happy he put Saint Pablo on the end of this project.

King Ye had such a rough year but he did what he can best: Producing music that feels larger than life. Sometimes even larger than himself...

Carly Rae Jepsen - E•MO•TION: Side B



Standouts:





My Queen did It again. After her critically acclaimed 3rd studio album and pop bible E•MO•TION she came back with an EP full of B-sides and wowed us all once again.

Her smooth vocals and the fantastic production of each track are a match made in heaven. CRJ4 is coming Q1 or Q2 of 2017. Are you ready? Cause I am.

The albums by the pop girls and the pop-leaning black boys but not the Hawaiian

Shura - Nothing's Real



Standouts:











This album is a pearl. A product of the 80's inspired alt-pop movement ala Haim, Sky and Carly. Shura is singing about her very first anxiety/panic attack and how she's coping with It in her life.

It all reminds me of 80's Madonna, a lot of Janets Velvet Rope mixed with some vintage Kylie. A perfect album.
