Not a stan, but BR was when I finally admitted to myself that I liked her songs (she was still a "guilty pleasure" when I liked JD/Paparazzi). I had never heard BR until the video premiered, and I just remember being SCALPED experiencing both slayages at the same time. She really DID THAT & was truly that bitch at the time.
The year was 2009. I had heard of Lady Gaga, but never paid that much attention to her. I thought to myself, "what kind of stupid bitch would call herself Lady Gaga?". Then one day I was listening to music on youtube and stumbled across the song Paparazzi. I listened to it and fell in love. I wondered to myself "How did she manage to make a pop song with so much meaning?" After that I discovered the video for Paparazzi and I was absolutely AMAZED. It was something I had never seen before. It was so innovative and fresh. It was ART, and it was POP. After that I watched all her other videos, which were also amazing, but there was something different about Paparazzi. It turns out this video was actually a prophecy of her career, but I wouldn't find this out until Artpop and Joanne flopped. Anyways I had heard that she would be performing at the VMA's that year and I knew I had to watch it. I had no idea that I was about to witness the greatest performance in history. As she performed a feeling surged through my body I couldn't stop screaming and crying. It was a truly holy experience. After that night I knew she was the ONE, she was going to be a LEGEND. She was the next messiah.
Just Dance because it was basic but then her So You Think You Can Dance performance changed lives as she brought 80s, couture , technology, fashion, art, and pop. Especially with the dancing, she commanded the stage back then. Plus the Candy Warhol videos. The rest was history.
Just Dance. I bought the Fame first week I stanned so hard for her but I think it was mostly because Rihanna was kinda gone during that time period. So when Rih came back with Rated R I dropped Gaga like a bad habit
G.U.Y. mv changed it all for me. I was on and off a fan and knew some of her non album singles but G.U.Y. idk I kept going back to watch the MV again and again.
I lived for the concept of a dance-pop song interpreted through a macabre, cinematic filter. Then she started bleeding on the VMAs stage and I knew it was a done deal.
