Rubio achieved international stardom with her fifth studio album, Paulina (2000), and has sold over 20 million albums.[2] Rubio placed as the 7th most successful Latin Pop Song Artist of the last decade per Billboard Magazine.
English-speakers recognize her from her 2002 single "Don't Say Goodbye (Si Tú Te Vas) from her sixth album, Border Girl. Causa y Efecto, the first single from her most recent album Gran City Pop, reached #1 on radio in Latin American countries, as well as the U.S., México, Colombia, Argentina and Spain. It reached #1 on U.S. Billboard's "Hot Latin Tracks". "Causa y Efecto"is Rubio's first number one single in the Billboard Hot Latin Songs since Ni Una Sola Palabra in 2006. Gran City Pop received a Grammy nomination at the 52nd Grammy Awards for "Best Latin Pop Album".
