That album inspired a whole new generation of melodramatic/edgy alternative pop of the likes of Halseys and Melanie Martinez and other carbon copies.. a generation of "depressed" tumblr girls wearing flower crowns, and the music and its videography was beyond amazing, it changed pop music as it is today

and instead Kelly Clarkson who's talented, but her album wasn't even that good, won

She wasn't thát well known by then, and the impact of course wasn't that obvious back then. It did deserve some nominations though.

Who was following popculture in 2011 and 2012 knows that it was impossible for her get a Grammy nom, let alone a Grammy.

Hipster Runoff, daily articles about a "fake persona", "record label puppet", "fake lips", "rich daddy", "anti-feminist", "fake name" and of course SNL. There was no article written about her without mentioning at least three of these things or all of them.

Completly different story in Europe though.

Yes, she was robbed. She should've gotten a BNA nom at the very least, but back then, LDR was more of a media star in the US than a music star. She was getting all kinds of spreads, editorials, and media coverage in the US like she had Gaga Fame/Monster era sales. BTD was an international blockbuster, but most of the sales were outside the US. Plus, that SNL performance left a bad taste in critic's mouths.

She is quite literally one of the most underrated artists (particularly where award shows are concerned) of recent times.

BTD especially was one of the most impactful albums, as is a lot of her music and the Grammys just never recognise her.

Also the fact Young & Beautiful wasn't nominated for an oscar is also a huge injustice.
