Not a fan of Sia’s hackneyed ‘build a song around a heavy-handed metaphor’ approach to songwriting but I LOVE this song’s lyrics.
The idea of someone just telling the grim reaper to **** off cause they’re having too much fun is amazing.
Can’t really have this on my list tho because well, can you imagine Rihanna’s vocals on this? Whew.
the long track lengths of the Car Seat Headrest would put a lot of people off I’m sure, but they make it work, mostly. This song is a bit of an adventure and reaches a very satisfying climax
ahhh the production. Her mixtape was a cute surprise after that messy When I Rule the World Song. Ended Miss Charlotte tbh.
Soundcloud Icon Jamila Woods’ album was v. nice, would recommend! This uplifiting bop is probably my fave. The second best song about breadcrumbs this year.
Got into their album a liddo bit late, so bubbling under it is!
The lyrics are obvs important but imo the production is the highlight, flawless. It kinda gives me future classic too?
I think Margo Price was very brave to start her debut with what is basically her life story, especially when she’s had such a life. Very pretty musically as well.
Yumi Zouma their album wasn’t really… dynamic
enough to hold my attention but I love this chill

I was BULLIED into listening to her album by a notorious fomo. However, am glad, it’s totes my aesthetic. This was definitely my fave, love the chorus, great vocals, nice production. And then that outro comes back to snatch the last few remaining follicles.

Yeah, I'm awful at listening to non-english music. An important thing for me with songs is being able to sing along and obviously if it's in Korean I can't do that.

Breadcrumbs was my fav from Jamila until another one kinda hit me out the blue, same thing with Why So Lonely being my top K-Pop song this year until something else snuck up on me (granted I only listened to like 12 total)
Silverlake is cute, but I love some other tracks from LWH more
