Why does Trump keep saying his victory resulted in one of the most historic and/or crushing defeats in American political history?

Like... he lost the popular vote by nearly 3 million, a greater margin than any other US President. And his electoral college margin of victory was quite small in historical terms.

Because he went against everything. Against media and even his own party. I dislike him, but he's an impressive person. Feels like he was born to win, no matter what. He's like the Justin Bieber of politics, he can be a known jerk and not having talent at all but still he's going to win. I dislike him but that's something very remarkable.
