Nicole is a top class vocalist. She should never down play her talent and compromise herself, because she has been BURNED and BURIED over and over again in this industry. Giving such a vocal performance meant that Matt should have to up his game A LOT and keep up with her. That's how you create something great. Challenge yourself against superior artists and vocalists.

It's not a matter of stealing the spotlight. It's a matter of giving the BEST performance possible to secure the win. Which she did 3 times in a row now First James, then Sam and now Matt.
