Hello has SOTY on lock. It's ROTY that Formation has the best chance at winning in, which it deserves to.

That's objectively false. They have several acclaimed albums and songs. But yeah, critics obviously prefer Bey now, rightfully so

Coldplay is extremely underrated because critics have always hated them. They deserve more praise just for selling out stadiums everywhere and breaking attendance records from Latin America to Asia.
Basically every band that came out in the last 15 years tried to be like them. Every artist copies their songs from the likes of Taylor Swift to Kygo.
Critics like Urban artists (Bey, Frank) and old rockers.

No. Only AROBTTH has 80/100 and even that was trashed by few critics.
The rest has 72 and lower.
Viva La Vida having a 72 but ended in the top10 aggregate year end countdown.
Same thing happened with AHFOD, critics called the songs trash but now they seem to like them.
Parachutes, AROBTTH and Viva all deserved to be in the 90s.

There's an easier path for Bey in the SOTY category

They're ranked higher than Bey (until she passes them next year) and have four albums entries, two of them in the top 1000 (more than Bey). They also have plenty of songs entries. The only reason why critics started hating them is because the quality of their music decreased.

Exactly the contrary of what happened to Bey . Up until 4 critics were barely taking her seriously aside from some of her songs. She eventually built so much respect and look where she is now

I was talking meta critics.
But yeah, they are probably more loved or equal to Bey on the bigger scale. There are countless extremely positive reviews for their albums that didn't count for metacritic.
Obviously they are loved, otherwise, they wouldn't be touring legends.
I personally think Ghost Stories is their best album ever and that was released in 2014. They enjoy performing their new songs more than their classics. I love that they never listen to the critics and do whatever they want. Each album is different, that's the key of their longevity. If they were releasing the same Parchutes, AROBTTH types of songs, they would be irrelevant like all the other contemporary bands.
