I don't get how this works. Leo for instance hasn't even been in a movie this year.

They're not necessarily overpaid, just a safe bet.
I mean, having a huge star like the people in the list be the lead in a movie, they're pretty much guaranteed to draw in a crowd and not totally flop and lose money.
Smaller returns but at least the returns are guaranteed.

They'll never be anymore mega stars who can carry a film on their name alone. This is the era of franchises.
