I'm starting to wonder how big of an impact immigration is having on the televoting as well. Like, Lithuania and Poland finished 1st and 2nd in the UK's televoting this year?  They're hardly songs I would have expected to do so well over here. |
Yes, immigration has been playing a huge role. Lithuania is always high in the Norwegian televotes because of that. Romania gets no less than 10 points from Portugal, Spain and Italy. And Switzerland is going to give its top scores to Serbia and Albania every year. Not to mention Armenia's yearly high points from France, Belgium, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Israel, Georgia and Russia because of the diaspora (that's basically 80+ points every year from the televote alone). Either you go back to the 2013-5 system which seemed to be more fair, or you totally remove the juries, because the final result in the end is never influenced by migrants (see Italy's landslide victory in televote in 2015). Anyway, the juries are corrupt af, let's get rid of them.
