Yes as long as they don't just throw them in for the sake of it because then they just get brushed to the side. Give them a backstory and meaning, a part that can aid the plot.

If it fits but not just for the hell of it since that usually leads to the most dumb, pointless storylines.

i think having LGBT characters as others have said with a backstory not only teaches about LGBT people (and a way to not discriminate against LGBT people i know some kids aren't educated about the LGBT community and can lead to them being discriminatory later in life), so this can be an opportunity to educate them. but it's a good way for them to know how to identify with their sexuality in life. etc..

With that logic, any sort of affection shown on a kids show would seem forced too since kids aren't old enough to really grasp those concepts anyway right?

I personally am 100% for it. It will lower the number of LGBT bullying and suicide cases among kids and help familiarize kids at an early age with us more so we're not always the "weird freaks."

And for anyone saying that it'll confuse kids, well I guess you haven't heard of LGBT parents raising a child that turned out straight. Shocking isn't it?

Of course. People always seem to think gay representation on shows has to mean guys passionately making out or something. It could be as simple as a boy having a crush on another boy or a girl having a crush on another girl because that does happen in the real world.
