That's probably a lie, its like they dont want to burn that bridge with her 1D fans so if they flop they can still be in good terms with them and release music, but we know that if one of them finds success they wont be together anymore.
it's not like in k pop that idols most of the time come back with their groups once their solo project has ended promotion
