Mozart also wrote many operas, many of which are still being played at the Metropolitan Opera today. I imagine the '600 world class soloists' include those who sing pieces of his operas or orchestral vocals. The last opera I saw from him was 'Le nozze di Figaro' and the music was phenomenal.
One of my favorite classical works is the Requiem mass which is composed of 8 movements, and
Lacrimosa is my favorite from it. The entire suite is like a soundtrack for the end times: it reeks of destruction, despair, and death.
