There is a difference being sad and depressed. There's a difference between getting sad because you're broke and having a bad day versus having everything yet having a sense of hopelessness you can't shake..which in turn affects how your daily routines and relationships. Depression doesn't care what you have. The whole point of therapy is to help people acknowledge the tools they do have to cope.

Gaga even acknowledged that she is fortunate to have resources, like a month ago. You are choosing to paint her as a victim and you fail to realize that taking steps to fight depression is not the mark of a helpless victim.

Depression literally alters the signalling pathways of the brain so that you experience sadness and anhedonia regardless of your situation. So many people think depression is just sadness (deluxe edition) and that just isn't the case.

Raising awareness about depression and mental health, going out to help kids who are at risk of facing this problem, acknowledging and hopefully bringing attention to young artists who also experiences the same problems in hopes that they seek the help they need is annoying? You people are terrible tbh. Sometimes things are more than just silly industry politics and shade. These people have lives outside of their careers and it's quite sad so many people here are just reducing the problems they face, and more importantly the attention these celebrities try to bring to these issues, into silly stan wars and how she's using her depression to help her sell albums. How does that logic even work? Please stop being insensitive and realise that Adele, Gaga and Selena among so many others fight these issues everyday, and are trying to do some good by talking about it. Grow up.

A lot of people seem to think that money buys happiness and don't take celebrities' issues seriously, but they have the same illnesses we do. I wish people would understand that, understand that they have problems too and identify with them on that level. They're doing something great by bringing public awareness to this stuff, because there is still such a stigma to mental illness that will take a while to go away.
