Poll: Are you REQUIRED to tip?

I'm debating with my friend on this. They think that even though the server has a terrible attitude and do an awful job you still need to tip. Keep in mind, my biscuit headed friend has never worked a day in her life and has only ever received handouts, so I'm not surprised

Tip at least 10% and usually 18-20%
Servers often get $2/hour and have to tip out. Tips are everything they earn

Nope. But it's common courtesy for rich people to at least tip 20% of their bill. It's in their 'cultured' classes.

Unless the service is really bad, I would say you should tip. Servers rely on tips to make a living..BUT it's not "required" at all. Even if the service is great, you don't have to tip. That just makes you a douche, though.

Personally, I always tip them because they're using their own car + gas, so I don't mind helping them out

well in the united states i hear they get like $2 an hour so i would say yes. but in canada all my server friends only make like 50 cents below the minimum wage so i kind of have a problem with their entitlement. i still tip at least 15% in every case tho. but it kind of annoys me

I always tip but if I'm unhappy, I usually just tip less than I would.

I tip silvery drivers (when I have extra cash laying around) and waiters who go out of their way to do a really good job.

It's a very American thing to do but in this country we cherish generosity and kindness to strangers at all costs.

Yes, even the most sour bitches deserve at LEAST 10% (20% if they're nice). You gotta realize they're making like $2 otherwise
