It served its puprose, tho. It wss a global phenomenon. It was present day pokemania. It also played a role in helping S/M break records & become some of the best selling games in the franchise 20 years later. So, thanks fad.
I mean it was obvious that most people would stop caring after a couple months since everyone wants to bandwagon on what is currently popular but tend to get bored after a while. The game still has a lot of active players though, I see some people playing it on college sometimes.

Also when I'm playing I always see gyms being battled or a Lure set on a pokestop.
The average person is a sheep and has a weaker attention span than a fish, so it was obvious it was gonna lose steam fast. A lot of people are still playing though.
A fad that helped considerably boost the sales of Pokemon SuMo, get headlines worldwide and recreate the Pokemania of the 90s in a modern age. Most impactful fad ever methinks
I don't play anymore but with new mon coming I'll try I think again
it was released in the beginning of summer, and everybody played it during summer vacay
