It all depends on how December (2015) and January, which were done during the old charting formula, are counted. The only chance Sorry has is if those months are counted separately because Sorry's points are frontloaded, and even then, LY could still come out on top in this scenario. If December and January are counted the same as the rest of the months, then it is a toss up between LY and One Dance.

Had the charting year been January-December, One Dance would have been a clear #1.

I know better for next year, I wonder if they really count the weeks when a song is out the Hot 100 and that's why "Sorry" got the advantage for #2, but if that was the case maybe Adele would be higher.
