Once again your way with words is impeccable, its like you're taking the thoughts I have but can't articulate and making them even better. Absolutely agree that Fade is a much more thoughtful statement, one that I'd associate with Kanye far more than the reality-show-in-your-face feel of Famous.

Solange and Bey both accomplished so much in their artistic endeavours and they come through best in your video picks. I love the contrast between Solange's subtler approach, and Bey's formidable approach. Both effective for different reasons, both stunning videos.

I hadn't seen (or heard of) Japanese Breakfast, but watching that video got me a little emotional. Knowing the context just elevates it even further.

Work and Starboy are good videos, especially the latter with all the colors and fancy directing. Fade has some great dancing and a rather interesting "twist" at the end. Formation is definitely among the best of 2016, though we all knew that already.

I ****s with SUKU, Witch etc. but if I went + did this myself I think it might be Nobody Speak at #1, shlayed me. Lazarus was nut one I got around in time, and then ... I gots Japanese Brockfast on one of my own lists but I didn't know about any videos, that sounds like another sad one lol

Agrih that once you pick ur jaw up off the floor @ her body that Fade had some more depth to it. ahh my ****ing fave. All after Famous being the worst piece of **** ever, Yeez the redeemer

And when all is said and done the shot of Bey on the floating cop car should go down as the most iconic image of her career, but guess that's just assuming she doesn't come out with something to top it the next go around

	I should probably give this band more of a chance but, for the time being, sneaking through the back door of this rate and taking a seat at the tail-end of the countdown will do for now.

69 DREAMLAND WILD BELLE
	She looks like Kesha and she sounds like Lana Del Rey: in my opinion the word 'tryhard' is too overused when talking about indie pop, especially since the progenitor of the modern movement orbits around the idea of artifice. Once in a while it's nice to enjoy things from a visceral perspective, listen to the dreamlike melodies and forget about fakery.

68 MEAN WHAT I MEAN ALUNAGEORGE FT LEIKELI47 & DREEZY
	2016: the year of celebrity deaths, political turmoil and somewhat disappointing musical comebacks. I liked AlunaGeorge but their music didn't really have that much replayability for me, so I wasn't too disheartened by their new album. Anyway, here's a bop.

67 DEADWATER WET

I always say that the best, most important thing an artist can do is understand themselves to the point where their work becomes completely indistinguishable from their persona. Wet probably took this idea too seriously in making an album that was genuinely a bit wet. Their non-committal to a style made for an album that was a bit too pallid in some areas, but subtlety and beautiful melodies can be a foolproof formula when it's done right.

66 TRAINWRECK BANKS
	Meta queen BANKS makes a song about the general quality of her work. I think it's a shame, and maybe people do too much on poor Jillian, because she swings between a rock and a hard place: either being too dull or too forced. Trainwreck falls into the latter category, but the way Jillian goes off in the chorus sells the song enough to warrant praise.

65 CRUEL SNAKEHIPS FT ZAYN

It's interesting to look back on previous eras of music and gauge which trends aged well and which trends did not. I think that, for the most part, the electronic producer + male vocalist trend will age well but some of the songs, when stripped of their production, would sound unremarkable. Cruel is an exception for me, the melodies are nice, even if the 'looping round like CCTV' lyric kills some momentum.

64 TRUE DISASTER TOVE LO
	She may not be a cool girl but every now and then we see that she certainly knows her way around an efficient pop song.

63 SAFE AND SOUND JUSTICE
	Justice's music is often too cloying and bloated to enjoy on an album scale, but individually nu-disco revivals are always welcome even if they may be wearing a bit thin at this point.

62 ALI R U OK M.I.A.
	I don't think it's a secret to anyone that AIM was nothing more than contract fulfilment. I'd love to say there are plentiful hidden treasures but the one true diamond had already been released. Ali R U Ok is probably next in line which has a few nice ideas on globalisation and a title which is classic, satirical M.I.A.

61 OVERCOME LAURA MVULA FT NILE ROGERS
	The 2010's disco revival has probably going on long enough for anyone to start getting sick of funky basslines in pop music, and at points in Overcome it feels a little overworked. The song is, however, really elevated by the chasmal vocals and the euphoric outro which establish enough space for everything to fit nicely. Extra points for actual Nile Rogers and not just stand-in Nile Rogers.

I like all of the songs! I just discovered all of them now except Tove Lo, M.I.A. and Banks so thanks!

True Disaster

True Disaster is a great DWUW derivative, definitely above the quality of other recent ones. I just wish she showed off more of her personality in it, though.

I could only remember like 2 songs at max from Wet's album. I think Deadwater was one of them. True Disaster > Cool Girl.

Safe and Sound was a nice "comeback" song from Justice after that disappointing sophomore slump. Ali R U Ok is pretty decent among the material from aim. I like the disco vibe from Overcome, even tho it's nothing really new.
