She's just choosing to speak out about it now because she feels more comfortable. She expressed a lot of the darkness through her music by making some vague (and some not-so-vague) allusions since the start of her career, so it's nice that she feels like she's in a good enough place mentally to start talking about it. It's also nice that in the real world, she's being met with concern and empathy as opposed to unnecessary hatred and shaming like she is on this website.
