It's not a choice but I don't think we're born this way either. I think it is a combination of genetic and environmental factors, and I especially think the environmental factors around puberty have the most influential effect.
I honestly don't agree, I grew up and still live in a very homophobic country and if I could get rid of my attraction to the same sex I honestly would. However now I am comfortable with myself because I have never acted on my impulses because I am also attracted to opposite sex and I stick to that because it's easier. But if I lived some where, in a more understanding country I know I would go after the same sex........ I guess I should change my orientation to bi.
If being gay is a choice is being straight or a Christian a choice also?
I mean… yeah… to be a christian means that you follow christianity aka a religion. it's not something you're stuck with forever… I'm a lutheran-turned-apatheist.
