A woman who created Facebook profiles and sent herself eight threatening messages from them to frame her ex-boyfriend has been jailed for a year.
Stephani Renae Lawson, who now lives in Las Vegas, was caught by investigators after reporting her former partner Tyler Parkervest to police in Orange County, California.
Parkervest was arrested over the threats and was due to stand trial when prosecutors spotted flaws in the woman's testimony, NY Daily News reported.
He was cleared of four charges of stalking, threatening, kidnapping and battering the 25-year-old.
She was jailed on Wednesday after admitting to sending herself the menacing messages.
Posing as her ex-boyfriend, she threatened to beat and murder herself in the string of messages sent last year after she and Parkervest broke up.
She told police about the messages and the man, from Irving, California, was arrested.
He denied ever sending the messages but faced felony charges based on Lawson's claims. They included probation violation and stalking.
Wait so they charged her boyfriend without fully investigating it/consulting Facebook to confirm that said messages had been sent from his official account? Police are so sloppy sometimes this girl is a complete psycho, karma will get her.
